Indiana Members Foundation was founded in 2010, exclusively for the purpose of being a positive influence in the community served by Indiana Members Credit Union; specifically, providing school children in the Indianapolis area with the necessities essential for learning and succeeding in their education.
Indiana Members Foundation is a huge supporter of the Indy BackPack Attack School Supply Drive. Since 2008 we have donated more than 575,000 school supplies which includes 26,500 backpacks. In 2011 we became the fiscal agent for Indy BackPack Attack. In addition to the Indy BackPack Attack we also supported IPS School #44 by providing the students with new school uniforms and shoes in the fall, as well as host a Holiday Celebration Party, graduation luncheon, teacher appreciation luncheon, help mentor students, and help keep their Community Food Pantry stocked.
In 2013 the Joan Wolfe Legacy Grant Program was established to offer grants to non-profits or schools that work with youth in the communities served by Indiana Members Credit Union. A total of four (4) $2,500 grants are awarded each July.
In 2017 we will be offering up to (25) twenty-five $1,000 scholarships through our Robert E Martin Collegiate Scholarship Program. Each scholarship will represent one of our IMCU Branches.
Employees are encouraged to nominate different charities and organizations that need help. Each Friday the they are encouraged to bring in a small donation to benefit that weeks chosen benefactor.
Indiana Members Foundation also offers a fundraising program called Canvas for a Cause, to help different non-profits and organizations raise money for their cause.
